What this does

Buys and sells change holdings and cost basis. Dividends and interest are investment income; fees reduce value.

Contributions and distributions are tracked by tax year for tax-advantaged accounts. A contribution from your bank is a transfer, not spending; a distribution to your bank is a transfer in, with its tax year recorded.

How to

Record activity

  1. 1Open the account → Activity → Add.
  2. 2Choose type, date, security, quantity, price/amount, and (for contributions/distributions) tax year.
  3. 3Link the matching bank transaction where one exists so it isn’t counted twice.

Imports and sources

  • Activity can be imported from a spreadsheet; duplicate detection compares date, amount, and security.

Corrections, voids, and reversals

  • Edit or delete manual activity; cost basis and performance recalculate.

Audit trail

  • Changes record who, when, and source.

Availability and provider notes

  • Built – unverified: this workflow exists in the prelaunch product but has not yet completed human certification. Review results before relying on them.
  • Live activity feeds: Provider connection required.
  • Tax-year totals are organizational records, not tax advice or filed figures.
  • KontoCore Personal and WealthKraft organize your own records. They do not give investment, tax, or financial advice and do not place trades or move money.

Permissions

  • Household owners and members with edit access can change records; view-only members and trusted helpers see only what their scope allows.

What happens in your books

Linked bank movements stay transfers; nothing becomes household spending or income except investment income you record.

Common mistakes

  • Recording a contribution in both the bank (as spending) and the investment account.
