What this does
A customer record holds contact and billing details, default payment terms, tax settings, and a running history of estimates, invoices, payments, and credits.
Transaction-level/books multicurrency and customer/vendor portals are Planned / Not yet available. Customer records and sales forms do not provide external portal access.
How to
Add a customer
- 1Open Sales → Customers → New customer.
- 2Enter the display name and billing email.
- 3Set payment terms (for example Net 30) and tax status; attach an exemption certificate if exempt.
- 4Use the company’s base currency; foreign-currency invoicing and multicurrency books are not yet available.
- 5Save.
Common mistakes
- Creating duplicate customers with slightly different names — search before creating.
- Marking a customer tax-exempt without keeping the exemption certificate as evidence.
Terms used:Accounts receivable (A/R)
