KontoGuide is being introduced during prelaunch. Some modes and actions described here may not yet appear in every area of the product.

In plain English

KontoGuide is the built-in helper. It can explain what a screen or term means, walk you through a task, and double-check your entry before you save it. You can turn it down or back up whenever you want.

What this does

Basic guidance is part of Core — explanations and deterministic checks are not premium features.

Recommendations that use AI assistance are available with Autonomous. They are suggestions only; accounting controls and your approval remain authoritative.

How to

Change or restore guidance

  1. 1Open your profile menu and choose Guidance preferences.
  2. 2Pick Guided, Assistive, or Quiet for the current company.
  3. 3To turn guidance back on later, return here and choose Guided. Dismissed tips can be reset from the same page.

Guidance modes

ModeWhat you see
GuidedExplanations, step prompts, and checks appear as you work. Suited to people new to accounting.
AssistiveHelp is available on request and important warnings still appear.
QuietMinimal prompts. Blocking accounting controls still apply.

Guidance actions

ActionPurpose
Explain thisPlain-language meaning of a field, report, or term, including the accounting effect.
Guide meStep-by-step walkthrough of the current task.
RecommendSuggested category, account, or next step. Deterministic rules on Core; AI-assisted suggestions on Autonomous.
Check my workRuns checks on the entry before saving — for example, a deposit recorded as income that looks like a transfer.

Deterministic guidance vs AI assistance

Deterministic guidance follows fixed accounting rules and always gives the same answer for the same facts. AI-assisted recommendations may consider patterns and context, show their reasoning, and can be wrong — they never post financial changes by themselves.

Per user, per company

Your guidance mode applies to you in the selected company. An accountant can use Quiet mode while the owner keeps Guided mode in the same books.
