What this does

The review queue shows each imported line with suggested actions. Nothing affects your books until you confirm.

TermWhat it means
CategorizeCreate a new record and choose what it was (for example Office Supplies).
MatchLink the bank line to a record already in your books, such as a paid invoice or bill payment.
TransferMoney moved between two of your own accounts — not income or expense.

How to

Review a transaction

  1. 1Open Banking → Review transactions and pick an account.
  2. 2Check any suggested match first. If a matching invoice payment, bill payment, or deposit exists, choose Match.
  3. 3If it’s new, choose Categorize, pick the payee and account, and add a memo.
  4. 4If it’s a movement between your own accounts, choose Transfer and select the other account.
  5. 5Split a line across several accounts when one payment covers several things.
  6. 6Attach a receipt as evidence where useful, then confirm.

What happens in your books

Categorizing a card purchase of $84.00 for supplies:

Office supplies paid by credit card · illustrative
AccountDebitCredit
Office Supplies (expense)84.00
Business Credit Card (liability)84.00

Common mistakes

  • Categorizing a customer payment as income when the invoice already recorded the income — this double-counts revenue. Match it instead.
  • Recording a credit card payment from checking as an expense. It is a transfer.

Troubleshooting

The same transaction appears twice

See Troubleshooting → Duplicate imported records.

No match is suggested for a payment I recorded

Check the amount, date, and account on the existing record; matches require the same account and amount within a reasonable date range.
