People → Employees · Payroll import
KontoCore does not run payroll. Connected payroll synchronization starts with Autonomous — Provider connection required.
What this does
Record payroll results from your payroll service as summarized journals — gross wages, taxes, deductions, and net pay — so the ledger is complete.
How to
Import a payroll run
- 1People → Payroll import.
- 2Upload the payroll summary file and map columns to accounts.
- 3Preview the journal and confirm totals match the payroll report.
- 4Post, then match the net-pay and tax withdrawals in banking.
What happens in your books
A payroll run with $10,000 gross, $2,300 withholdings, $765 employer taxes:
| Account | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Wages Expense | 10,000.00 | |
| Payroll Tax Expense | 765.00 | |
| Payroll Liabilities | 3,065.00 | |
| Checking (net pay) | 7,700.00 |
Common mistakes
- Categorizing the net-pay bank withdrawal as wages without recording the full journal — understating expense and liabilities.
