Banking → Transfers
In plain English
Moving money from checking to savings isn’t spending. A transfer keeps your profit and loss clean.
What this does
A transfer moves an amount from one balance-sheet account to another. When both accounts have imported activity, KontoCore matches the outgoing and incoming lines to the same transfer so neither is duplicated.
Credit card payments from checking are transfers. Loan payments are usually split between principal (transfer) and interest (expense).
How to
Record or match a transfer
- 1In Bank transactions, select the line and choose Transfer, then pick the other account.
- 2If the other side is already imported, KontoCore offers it as a match — accept it.
- 3Or create one directly in Banking → Transfers → New transfer.
Statuses and lifecycle
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Matched | Both sides linked to one transfer. |
| One-sided | Only one side is imported yet; it will match when the other arrives. |
Corrections, voids, and reversals
- Unmatch to separate the two sides; void a manual transfer to reverse it.
Permissions
- Owners, administrators, and users with bookkeeping permission can create and post. View-only users can read but not change records.
What happens in your books
No income or expense is recorded.
| Account | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Savings | 2,000.00 | |
| Checking | 2,000.00 |
Common mistakes
- Categorizing both sides — once as expense and once as income.
- Recording a card payment as an expense.
Troubleshooting
Duplicate after matching
One side was categorized before the match. Undo that categorization and accept the match.
