Taxes → Sales tax
What this does
Sales tax collected is a liability, not income. KontoCore tracks it by agency and period and records payments against it.
How to
Set up and file
- 1Taxes → Sales tax → Add agency and filing frequency.
- 2Add rates, or combined rates for multiple jurisdictions.
- 3Mark items and customers taxable or exempt.
- 4At period end, review the sales tax liability report.
- 5Record the payment when you file with the agency.
Common mistakes
- Recording tax collected as revenue.
- Paying the agency as a regular expense rather than against the liability.
