What this does

A rule matches description, merchant, amount, or account and suggests or applies a category, or marks the line as a transfer.

Suggestions appear in the review queue; nothing becomes trusted until reviewed unless you set the rule to apply automatically.

How to

Create a rule

  1. 1From a transaction choose Create rule, or open Personal → Review → Rules → New.
  2. 2Set conditions and the category (or Transfer).
  3. 3Choose Suggest or Apply automatically.
  4. 4Optionally apply to existing unreviewed transactions.

Imports and sources

  • Rules run on new imported and connected activity. The original source text is kept so you can see why a rule matched.

Corrections, voids, and reversals

  • Editing or deleting a rule affects future matches only. Already reviewed transactions keep their category unless you re-run the rule.

Audit trail

  • Each categorization records whether a rule or a person set it.

Availability and provider notes

  • Built – unverified: this workflow exists in the prelaunch product but has not yet completed human certification. Review results before relying on them.
  • KontoCore Personal and WealthKraft organize your own records. They do not give investment, tax, or financial advice and do not place trades or move money.

Permissions

  • Household owners and members with edit access can change records; view-only members and trusted helpers see only what their scope allows.

What happens in your books

Rules change categories only; amounts and dates never change.

Common mistakes

  • Over-broad conditions (e.g. “AMAZON”) applying one category to many kinds of purchases.

Troubleshooting

Rule didn’t apply

Another rule matched first, or the transaction was already reviewed.
